[attachment 130498 PICT0004.JPG] This is my take with mxt but i did get a rusted ring maybe sell on ebay.I also have a ace 250 hard to beat have a idx and xlt but my brother in law can hunt up a storm with that 250.

[attachment 130499 PICT0007.JPG] Tim dude is on Garrett forum ace 250, brother in law does good with that machine. But i think he buys stuff at the garage sales and bring it in his pocket just so it looks like he find stuff. Some times i wonder if he has batteries in it or just has a bell in his pocket he rings to pretend he is hunting and found something. Well everyone happy fathers day:poke::lol:

Your'e funny Fred..........

As long as you two are having fun, that all that matters.

Good to have both machines.Use the 250 with the small coil around metal objects like swing set and monkey bar poles.Use the MXT on everything else. the 250 is a tot lot terror when it comes close to metal poles. The MXT can seek much deeper than the ace. I plan on getting a 250 just for that reason (to use along with my MXT. The MXT will find coins real good. You just have to put your coil over the coins. My friend has two ace 250's (one with the small concentric coil, the other uses the standard coil). I can follow behind him and dig up coins his 250 missed.

Just having fun have to say my brother in law can really hunt with that 250 usually finds more coins than me when we get together and hunt.

Well I hunted with a guy from the Friendly Metal Detecting forum, He had an Ace 250 and I had my MXT. We hunted Tot Lots that day. All I can say is my finds blew him away. He was so impressed he later bought an MXT. It wasn't the detector for him and he later just kept his 250. An MXT can get close to those poles in the lots if you know how. Rob

So very true Rob about the MXT can get close to the poles! It also it depends on if your coil goes over the coins or not. I like to hit the playgrounds with the bars where you can hang upside down and the swings. Love that gravity thing! HH to all, Nancy

might be true but my brother in law is hot with 250 i think he digs everything that sounds good.He had a total of 64 coins .

" If you Know How" want to enlighten us?

The elliptical coils seem to work best. It is easier with the 4x6 but I don't use one and it still works with the 6x10 just not as easy. Turn down the gain most of these targets aren't that deep.

Ground balance away from the fence (pole, steps etc.). Walk the coil nose with the coil right on the ground to approximately 1" of the pole. Let the machine stabilize with no VDI showing. Squeeze the pinpoint trigger a couple of times then place the trac to LOCK. Then swept the fence keeping the coil on the ground and 1-1.5" off the pole, fence, etc.. You will get some false signals on the posts but you will hear the good targets. You need to experiment to find the best gain and practice keeping the distance between the pole, metal steps, climbing chains, and the coil tip constant. :goodnight: Rob

i`ve added a Detech 15x12 SEF coil to my 250 and anybody who comes along behind me will be needing to use E-Trac and a lot of luck to find anything i might have missed except maybe around any metal poles ,then i`d advise the use of the Sniper coil, be lucky:ukflag: or of course a MXT may just find a few:thumbup:
