MXT v the DFX 300

New member
Hi Just wondering if anyone could offer any advise on whether it would be of value to update my MXT to the DFX 300
Does the DFX have any advantages over the MXT or would i just be wasting my money
I hunt on beaches and land ( and have had great success with the MXT )
Any comments on the Fisher F75 or the technics?

Thanks in advance

Rick

unless you are a serious or casual nugget hunter, thats the only advantage of the mxt over the dfx,as the mxt is based on the excellent goldmaster..for the beach, the dfx stomps on the mxt just for the fact of being dual frequency,GAME OVER :)

But if you switch to the 6 X 10 DD coil on the MXT, It works great on salty and heavy mineralized soils and sands, would make a better all round detector. the GMT is a good detector on beaches also it has great separation on mineralized beaches. I used a GMT on the beaches around San Diego for years.

If you purchase and moujnt a 12' Whites coil, you have an MXT 300. Personally I don't see enough advantage to justify the money going to the DFX, but that's me.

I use an MXT as my main detector, but here is a good post by Greg. Rob
