I enjoy your posts but would really like to see you include honest depth of your finds, VDI numbers and how accurate you thought they were, and which coil you were using. These additional bits of information would be helpful to newbies of the MXT. Yes, I know the VDI's will be influenced a lot by plenty of variables but it could still be useful information.

Many of us that do use the MXT don't look at the VDI numbers before digging. If it's a good signal, we dig. I for one only use my stock coil or my 5.3" coil. Oh at times I do use my BigFoot coil when coin shooting. Depth? Well, that all depends. You can find a coins/relics on top of the soil and down 10" or more. The depth readout on the MXT is accurate and right on the money. HH, Nancy

I personally use the 10x6DD coil. VDI well I don't watch it much I just make sure it is on the positive side, I have dug some -95 VDI just to check the theory of the MXT edge book that states that sometimes you have very low VDI numbers on deep signals, well the objects were deep, no question 10+ inches, but all of them were Iron parts, bars, scrap, nothing worth digging. Most of my finds are from 3 to 6 in deep.

Hey buddy - I had my MXT out this evening. I hit a dime, VDI 77 solid, depth 8" - coil was a about 3/4 to 1" above the ground and dime was 7" down. My MXT was purchased in 2007 and it still rocking the parks! I just ordered another for my son.

The MXT will get you deeper then you may want to dig.
But I would say 80% of my best finds in park and school yards, have been in the 3 to 5" range.
I don't take too much stock in the screen as it is only a guide. I run with disc on 2 and dig everything above iron.
Bring a trash can. But you will dig gold from from 0 VDI to 70 VDI.

REMEMBER,
If you don't dig it, you will never really know what it was.

my last find with the mxt was 5 inches down in MA.soil. Most of my finds are about that deep, however i tested the mxt at maximum disc in a very trashy area and found this ankle bracelet at 4 inches .It is 925 silver. I ALWAYS USE A 6X10 COIL.

Nice find! Is it broken or was the clasp not connected when you found it? Usually the lost bracelets and necklaces break when they are lost.
