I was out Tuesday in the very cold temp. and the screen on the MXT went blank but it still would beep on a target. This is the first time this ever happened.Has anyone else had this happen to them? It was very cold(temp was about 20 degrees). I turned it off and than back on and it worked find.Any thoughts on this problem.

I had the same thing happen twice a long while ago. Other people have reported the same condition as you. With the same results in clearing the blanking problem. Turn it off then back on again and it works fine.
One person, that I can remember, sent their MXT back to White's and White's could not really find anything wrong. (They did replace something but I am sorry I cannt remember what.)
I believe another person opened up their MXT and made sure everything was seated / connected properly.
There have been a handful of these reports but nothing that lead to any permanent fix. Sorry, I know that is no help.
You can do a search on this site to see if there are any archived threads about MXT Blanking. you may come up with better data than I have been able to convey to you.

The instructions do say not to expose it to cold temps--such as leaving it in the car trunk in cold weather. It is probably effected by decreased temps, but not sure why turning it back on helps.

It happend to me one time at h-town. It was smoking hot that day, It balnked out and even after power cycle and batery change it would not come back on. I continued to cetect with sound only for about a 1/2 hour then broke for lunch(about 20 minutes). When I turned it back on after that it worked fine. Have not had a problen since.
