mxt screen replacement

bula

Member
Has anyone ever had to replace the clear window plate on their mxt. I put mine in the truck and something pressed against the screen & caused a dent. Not that big of a deal but it is right over the vdi section of the screen. I thought you might be able to take the face off & press it back out but the circuit board is mounted to the face.

Was wondering if the window can be replaced without sending the mxt in for repair.

The screen cover is just apiece of clear plastic film. A new one is around $5. You just peel off the old one then peel the back off the new one and stick the new one on. Rob

This is what the actual replacement sceen looks like prior to installing it on your camera. Notice that the back has a seal completely around the entire screen which will prevent moisture from entering the face of the MXT. There is also a clear protective piece of clear plastic film on the face of the replacement screen which appears to have a few wrinkles in it, but you remove it after you replace the MXT screen. Please have a great day! Kelley (Texas) :)
