Today I was out grocery shopping with my wife when she got a phone call. It was a friend of ares that wanted to know if I could find survey steaks,so he could build a fence with my MD I said never tryed, but I would give it a shot. When I got home I loaded my little monster up and off we went. When I arrived there he showed me were one of them was so I swung across it and it rang -17 VDI he then showed me were he thought the other one was,but nothing and know wonder he was about 8 ft off and it was about 6 inches he would have never found it. Then we went to the back of his 10 acres to look we asked the HORSE on the other side of the fence but he just gave us a long face and watched  so we got back to work looking and I figured it would be close to the fence but apparently the ol boy who built the fence just took off building fence cause I couldn't find it any where along the fence so I turned around to walk back and about six ft from the fence findly -17 there it was in about a foot of grass and 4 inches down. He couldn't believe that I found them and in so little time like 20 mins, but I told him it wasn't me it was my MXT I just the one swinging it. :yo:

Yes, great PR with the community Jake. Sounds like that might be a place to detect also. They do have a farm-house, don't they???

Another little story about finding markers, etc. A few years back my dad was on the water committee of a small town. When people wouldn't pay their water bills, the water would be shut off. They would have a long skinny poker and try to locate the valve that way. Sometimes it would take days. Well, dad knowing that we detect. He asked Larry to find the valves with his MD. Didn't take long at all. They older guys were amazed at the machine and we got the OK to hunt many many old properties. Can't beat good P.R. HH to all, Nancy

Hunting water valves on my job is what got me started in the great hobby of detecting. Great story Jake, I used my detector to find my property markers a couple years ago :detecting:
