mxt rain cover

does anyone have the rain/dust cover for the mxt and if you do can you tell me if there are holes for the adjustment knobs or do they get covered up.

For the MXT I still think the best thing is a large plastic bag--I use a 2 Gal.-I never use a cover on the Screen as its water proof----DeathWind1

I have them both and hate them lol...
The one that covers the screen makes it hard to see anything and the other is worthless if you want my opinion.. All the knobs are exposed... its like putting a loose fitting diaper on the electronics.. I don't really detect in the rain anyway.

I agree. Those covers are crappy. The one that covers the meter makes it difficult and uncomfortable to use the trigger. The cover that covers the control box does not keep anything out, especially around the knobs. It also makes it very difficult to see the printed markings around the knobs. Nevertheless, I do have the covers, and I put them on when I store the detector away for the long cold Michigan winter. If I would have known how crappy they are, I would not have ordered them.

A plastic bag works good on the display when it's raining. When you continually need to keep wiping water and dirt from the screen, you won't need to worry abt. eventually scratching it. It fits tight against the screen so's it still easy to read.

I also use a sandwich bag over display and a larger storage bag over the box. This protects it from the elements, as I hunt the beach. I also carry a shopping bag to provide extra coverage in care of a hard downpour. The storage bag works good as I can see the adjustments and is not to hard to change adjustments as needed.
