MXT QUESTIONS

Hello I need to know more on this machine 1 does it have tone id? 2 does it pin point like the dfx does it have the same trigger?? 3 would you say it goes deeper than the dfx, and last question, is it good in beach area?

No true tone ID, pinpoints the same as DFX, if the DFX user is experienced then depth is the about the same, at least that has been my experience while detecting with DFX users. Works great at the beach but I have never been able to use it in salt water very well. No problems in fresh water.

It does have two different tones in relic mode...don't know about the dfx cause i don't have one.......you can certainly use your mxt at the (salt water ) beach with good success..... you might experience some falseing in the water but all you have to do is turn down the gain for it to work ok....... as far as depth,,,,, a couple of my bests were a quarter at the beach at 12 inches deep and a .22 cal bullet (not the case) at 8" on an old farm site....... good luck with your mxt.....great machine Gene

Only have the MXT. Never used it at the beach.
From what I understand the DFX has a high learning
curve, but some people really enjoy that. I prefer to keep
it simple. The MXT does just that. Of course there is
SOME learning curve in that you need to watch the DVD
and have the MXT right there at you side so you can play with the
knobs etc. But the MXT is a turn on and go machine.
There is a "Quick Start" to get you going.

I took the MXT out to some ball fields where I had previously used
a compititors machine, and found "stuff" deeper that I had missed the first
time around.

Good luck
RR
