Does anybody know if there are any problems with the mxt pro.I beleive I read here that some folks were having some problems. Is that with the detector it self
like getting use to the way it works or is there a problem with the detector inside.Thank you for your coments..

moose57, I dont know of any problems within the MXT Pro, and the only problem I have is remembering
what modes are within when you press the music notes button and what order they are in but thats just a matter
of getting use to the newer set up, so apart from that its great

moose57 - I just bought a new MXT Pro after MONTHS of research and even sending back a Fisher F75 Ltd. - If there were any prob's with this awesome detector, I'd have heard about 'em! HH :pulltab:

Absolutely none here . . !

I have swung an MXT for over 6 years. Have had no problems with it since I realized that I have to learn the MXT

Thank you everyone geting in touch with me and letting me know about this question.I had an older mxt and it was easier to run than my new mxt pro.I have had the 9.5
eclipse coil, and the 5.3 coil on my mxt pro but am having trouble setting everything up to hunt.I mainly do c & j hunting in parks and older places.I live in oh..What would
you suggest setting the gain at for either coil, and how easy is it to do gb.Thanks.

moose57,
The gain will mostly be determined by ground characteristics and EMI at a given site so it can vary substantially from spot to spot. You will also be able to give a little more gain for the smaller coil than the larger one in a given spot. GB'ing the MXT Pro is identical to the std. MXT. To GB I turn gain to 5-6 (ground tracking on), bob the coil up and down close to the ground until you hear the threshold stabilize (it's not a drastic change but very noticeable once you hear it), then turn gain as high as you prefer and adjust ground tracking and search mode as desired. There's some great procedures written up in "The MXT Edge" book on both GB'ing the machine and getting the max, STABLE, gain setting for a particular spot. Hope that helps . . .

No. The MXT Pro can be a bit chatty at times, but its a solid machine, definitely a keeper and currently my go to unit. I also own a Fishers 1266X and one of the new Garrett AT Pro's.
