Hello, with the mxt pro having a mat paint is hard to keep clean after a day's hunt.Thank you I mainly hunt parks, farmfields, old buildings that I see when driving down the road
what coil's would you say would be the best to use.

Read down the list of posts, just about every one of them is discussed in detail. The 12" for large open areas low in trash, the 950 for general hunting and the 5.3 for trashy areas would cover just about all bases.

BEEN THERE DONE IT ALL THE "SEF. 6X8 BUTTERFLY COIL" IS THE BEST ALL AROUND COIL!!!!!:clapping:NEXT BEST COIL FOR DEEP HUNTING IS THE "SEF 10X12"BUTTERFLY COIL.:surprised:

Larry covered the bases nicely. IF you're encountering bad ground and/or high EMI then the DD coils are a good option for the MXT. Furrows, uneven ground, tight spots and snags would "fit" the solid loop 6x10 nicely and more open areas will suit the D2. JMHO

I like the 950 coil. Good all around coil and not heavy. I get better depth with it than my 6x10. The 12 inch coil is great for fields but it is heavy. I used it for two hours the other day roaming around a field and it wore my arm out. But all will work well in the intended use area. good luck with MXT pro , I love mine.

They clean-up fine depending on your level of clean....
Wipe down with a soft damp cloth..
The hardest to clean is the hand grip and the arm cuff strap.
If you don't mind the light brown look your good to go..

Okay, so I am biased, but after owning almost all of the mid-to-upper end discriminating White's, I like to combine simplicity with raw performance, and that will include the M6 and the MXT and MXT Pro models. #1, in my book, from White's is the MXT Pro. Adding the lock-in All Metal trigger position, the Ground Grab function, and the best back-light around, they have a definite winner.

It can be a bit more difficult, if you let the detector get dirty. I only let the tip of my Pro-Pointer get dirty, by screwdriver, and my Lesche Digger ... and only my left hand that uses them do make target recoveries. My right hand holds and works the detector and stays clean. I've been that way since about '71 when I got tired of a muddy/dirty detector after some very wet fall spell.

Even after months of use, with the exception of slight coil bottom scuffs, my detectors usually look almost showroom demo condition. I do like the new finish, but it does seem thinner. I've seen some gently used detectors other have that show more wear on the corners of the housing where I see shiny bright spots.

I always have at least 2 or 3 detectors in my rig, and most of the time they are ready-to-go with my favorite coil. With the M6 and MXT's it's always been the 5.3 Eclipse coil.

Light weight.
Well balanced.
Fits in between trash quite well.
Allows a slower sweep when needed.
Good discrimination and depth.

I feel it is the best coil to use on the MXT for many/most applications, and certainly a great pick to keep mounted for sites you find while driving around.
