MXT PRO with BIGFOOT

halfman2

New member
Does anyone have a MXT PRO with a Bigfoot on it? I just installed one to mine and the front half works great but the back half seems to double beep or echo. Is there something I need to do?

#1. Read the instructions. The back of the coil isn't your main pinpointing for the target. The back will detect an object and double peep or make a noise to let you know there's a target. Use the front of the coil to pinpoint, recognise the target, etc. Your coils is working like it should.

The Bigfoot operates differently on the MXT as Nancy said, a double beep lets you know a target passed under the bottom half of the coil, the DFX did not do this. You can get the instructions somewhere on the net if you did not get them with the Bigfoot, but here is the Technical Report: http://www.jimmysierra.com/bftek.htm

Don't forget to Ground Balance at 45 degrees........ nose down.

Thank you, I have always balance at 45 drgrees and I love it but the coil was used when I got it with no paperwork.

You'll love that BigFoot with the MXT. It's a vacuum cleaner when it comes to coins, etc. I have found a few gold rings with it too.

Sorry I didn't answer you, but I went to bed and thanks to Larry, :cheekkiss: , he answered your questions and gave you the link. HH, Nancy

Nancy, how would you rate it against the DFX at finding coins? I know they are totally different machines but in general.

Nancy has retired for the night but from my perspective the DFX and MXT is pretty much a draw not only with the Bigfoot but in all repects. The advantage of the DFX is in a salt water beach hunt with the dual frequencies.

Now she might try to tell you how much better the MXT is..............

:twodetecting: Have I told you how much I love my MXT? Well, Larry is correct. The DFX is better is salt water beach hunts. HH, Nancy

Since there are no baeches in Colorado I guess the MXT will do fine. Thank you very much for the info. I printed out the report that you sent me to.

Since this seems like a topic for me: beach hunting in NJ
Would the M6 be good with a BF?
Would a VX3 also work? I read, since the BF is older, I have to lower the rx gain. I have to look up what RX means

Thnx
Eric

To answer your questions........Yes. The BigFoot would work great on both machines. HH, Nancy

I guess the MXT and bigfoot work good together. I found my first gold ring my second time out. It is a collage class ring and I am trying to find the owner so I can return it. I tried to take a picture but you couldn't tell what it was. The ring rang up as a VDI 6 (foil)

:clapping: That's so cool. Congrats on the find and I hope you can find the owner. Whatever you do, do not give it to the college. They will usually keep it in the safe or not do anything to find the owner. They've got too much other things to do. Again, congratulations and HH, Nancy

The MXT & M6 are 2 filter machines so that's why you get The double bleep & the DFX is a 4 filter machine, no double bleep.
