I think you would enjoy the change in scenery and climate if you were able to make our 'Welcome to Hunt' outing next weekend, May 16th & 17th. We have had one good outing a year for the past several for our metal detecting group, but I figured it would be fun to propose a more distant location, plan for more hunting time, and have it an 'open' outing where anyone who would like to join us is welcome to.
We have 8, possibly more, coming from Oregon/Washington (Monte B. from Arlington in NE Oregon, James L., Cindy O., Bob S., Dan S., Brian W., Bob W. all from the Portland area, & Gregg Z. from the Oregon/Idaho border) Also participating are 1 from California (Elbert E.), 2 from Colorado (Jim G. & Mark P.), 1 from Idaho (Darren R.), 3 from Nevada (Joel, Ryan K. & Wayne R.) and 3 from Utah (Jay A., Ed O. & Lloyd C.).
We are using W. Wendover, Nevada as our "base camp" to eat dinner, rest up each night, then head out for some fun hunting at least four true ghost tons (abandoned w/o standing structures or inhabitants), and we welcome all who would like to join us. A bit of a stretch for you to make it all the way from New England, but it would be fun for us to be out in the high desert wasteland town sites and hear an excited YEA! as we do so often when you make a fun find.
Some are staying for the 2 day weekend, but most have planned to hang in there through Wednesday or Thursday, and some might stay longer. Just a thought and an invite, and, if you or anyone are interested, shoot me an e-mail.
