MXT Pro tones question.

I have a MXT Pro on the way, but was curious about the tonal ID system. I used a MXT when they first came out with the single tone in the coin and jewelry mode, are the multi tones hard to adjust to. That seems like a lot of different sounds to listen to. Thanks.

Not hard at all Dan .I'm willing to bet you're really going to love them . I too have an MXT All Pro on the way and I'm guessing those tones will be exactly like the ones on my M6 . I started out on single tones but have no desire to go back . I'll take all the tones ,numbers and confidence bars I can get .Congratulations on your new acquisition .

On C&J with tone ID On, it depends where you have the discrimination dial set to, The lowest setting (accepting Iron) will be 7 Tones.

Now as you increase the discrimination dial, you will start losing tones.

Also The Relic 1 Tone, works great For C&J, Grunt for Iron, (if you accept Iron) all other Targets are a Sharp High tones, The VDI Numbers are the same, just ignore the icons.

Good luck on your new Pro

I see I 've got a bit to learn on the MXT Pro with the different programs . This will be fun and I'm looking forward to it .

One more thing you can do . . . there is a software bug that allows you to get 7-tone in "Relic" where the threshold runs quieter. With the machine in "C&J" use the musical note button to select 7-tone, then switch the toggle into "Relic". As long as you don't press any of the buttons after that it will stay there. If you do press one and it reverts, just repeat the procedure to reset it. For a coin hunter the VDIs will be the less familiar "Relic" versions . . . buttons, buckles and bullets but once you get used to the numbers you won't notice this anymore. The high-tones really stand out from the background but the mid-tones may take some practice to notice them.
