[size=large]i've been listening to those who were talked into the greatest machine ever made having to send said machines back. not just one or two but a whole model having the same problems. and it's new.
now last yr. was the intro for the MXT PRO. i have yet to read of any problems with it. i kick myself for not getting one when i had the chance. are they really that solid?
am thinking of correcting my mistake. maybe a m-6 ? i don't do relics or prospecting.
am wondering what if any problems folks are dealing with on either machine.

Mine has been an excellent machine so far. I don't think you can go wrong with and MXT/MXT Pro!

The only complaint I have heard is that backs and legs hurt from digging so many good targets.........:bouncy: Really though, the MXT family is a proven winner..... an easy to use TID detector that goes deep, it doesn't get much better than that.

they have all performed quite well. Never an issue like with the other brand's newest entry. Honestly, I was a bit saddened to hear they've had so much trouble with it, but it was a rush to the market, I believe.

The MXT Pro is on my spring shopping list, as well as an XLT. The main reasons I like the MXT Pro are the addition of the Ground Grab function for one-handed quick adjustment, and the excellent back-light. The latter will be a blessing when the summer heat has me night-hunting the ghost towns and other sites I enjoy working.

If you like to have Threshold adjustment, get an MXT series model. If you have the slightest inkling of hunting in a traditional Threshold-based All Metal mode (Prospecting), get an MXT series model. If you just can't live without the dual-tone Relic mode, the one of the MXT models.

If you mainly coin and jewelry hunt, sometimes relic hunt, want great MXT-like performance but without the other mentioned features, the M6 can make an excellent pick! I like them and just sold one to my oldest son three weeks ago.

An MXT or M6 with the 950 coil is good for beach hunting or covering a plowed field or wide-open sports field. However, if you're like me, most of my urban coin hunting and host town hunting and relic work around homesteads and such is best accomplished with the 6

[size=large]Monte, if nothing else you have convinced me of the need and use of the 5.3 coil. so if i do get a mxt or m-6 that 5.3 will be the first extra coil i get. and
i just might be able to get one with-out selling the aussie.
