Mxt pro comon VDI # for rings

gglav

New member
i bought a mxt pro about a year ago and havent even got a single ring i find pull tabs and clad change and a few silver coins but no rings not even junk rings what are the common VDI # for rings u guys are finding.

In my experience the larger silver rings are the easiest to find because many fall into dime-quarter VDI range. All the veteran hunters admit you pretty much have to dig everything to find rings. Due to shapes and sizes they are all over the VDI range, particularly the gold ones.
I myself have found a few nice gold and school rings hitting on 30, and 35 VDI, for what it's worth. Good luck!!

Gold rings can be anywhere from 6 into the 40's and silver rings in the 40's up into the 80's-low 90's depending on size, orientation and purity. Keep digging the junk and you will be rewarded one day. Of course keep in mind soon places have a better chance of finding rings than others which will up your odds, beaches, volleyball courts, soccer field and tot lots being at the top of the list.

I've found gold rings as low as 6 on the VDI. It was a size 1 child's ring. Cute little thing with a diamond chip. Also I know Larry has found a gold wedding band that hit in the 60's. It was an old thick ring. :surprised: Nice and heavy. :clapping: We've hunted a school yard that gave up quarters (hundreds) like never before, but we've not found one ring there, silver or gold. Not one!

Keep hunting and digging everything and one of these days, you'll find your first gold ring. HH, Nancy

MXT has found them for me in the range of-20 to 50+
All in the range of pull tabs and aluminium can slaw.
It''l come when you lease expect it so dig the good
repeatable signals in those ranges.

Most of my gold rings have read 4 to 16. I have found them as low as 2 and as high as 50. The majority have been in the foil range. Hope this helps.
Bill

There is no magic number, but most of my rings have been in the +18 to +30-+40 range, I just found a large 10kt gold high sch. ring that read +18 but that was at a salt water beach in wet sand so the number may not be what a land find would be. The ring was apprx. 8" deep which was outstanding as far as I was concerned especially at a salt water beach. (Emerald Isle, N.C.)
