MXT Pro Coil

I love my 6x10 DD. Some talk about the SEF coils has been going around too, though.

Have I told you how much I like my 5.3" coil? HH, Nancy

[size=large]there is a video on you tube comparing the whites 6x10 against the SEF 8x6 coils. someone posted a link with-in the last two months on this forum. the SEF coils are gaining a following. the 6x10 whites coil has a proven track record. a must have for any selection is the 5.3 coil. it might be said the afore mentioned coils can fill in for the 5.3 quite nicely. the 5.3 is concentric. the other two are DD. these are good for trashy areas. i really like my D2 for more open areas but i for one can't swing the larger coils so i don't do open fields and such.
i believe you'll find the SEF coils are making in-roads on the other coils. and not just whites machines.
anyway, these are what coils i have. the 950, 5.3, 8x6 sef and the D2 10"DD. :whites:

I have the 4X6, 5.3, 6X10, 9.5 and the 12" spider. I find the 4X6 superb in heavy trash with the 5.3 close behind and deeper. The 6X10 is my general "go to" coil and the one I would choose if I absolutely could only have one. However, I find they all get used some of the time. The 9.5 and the 12 are very good for depth and ground coverage as long as an area isn't way heavy to trash. My two bits.

I think you will find the 12" that comes with the Pro might be a little large for general hunting and the 950 would be ideal IMHO. As others have said, the 5.3 is a great coil in the trash and a good "in between" would be the 6X10 with good coverage and great separation at the expense of a little depth loss compared to the 950.

Well Nancy, I do have the 5.3 when you suggested I get it for the M6. I love that coil for that machine it is great. I have been considering using one of the D type coils. I guess i should search out you tube to see how they work.

My buddy and I both have the MXT Pro I run the 6 x 8 SEF coil and he runs the 6 x10. We run the same settings and when we hear a good signal we just test the coils against each other. He has never found anything I couldn't hear and I fine 7 and 8 inch deep buttons he cant hear at all. I the trash the 6x8 still is as good or better than the other coil. I like the 9.5 whites coil in fields but I got a 10 x 12 sef on the way to try now. Either way the MXT is the best machine on the market in my opinion.

I use the 10 X 12 SEF coil on my MXT PRO and I really like it. Has great separation for its size.

I use the 6X10 most of the time however when I trade coils I go to the 4X6 both are dd coils. I have a 10" dd that I use once in awhile but not very often, I find that where I hunt there is just to much trash for it. I would like to try it in a open feild if there were any good places around here to hunt. The 10" is very light compared to the 6x10 & I find that I could swing it all day with ease.

The only problem I have found with the 5.3 coil on my MXT Pro is that I never want to take it off. Ran at +3 it is Dyn-o-mite...:hot:
