mxt pro at the beach

I have only seen video of it, as I have not used mine on the beach. The D2 coil seems to be very effective. The video was in dry sand so I have no idea in the wet sand.

i think it would be fine, i havent had it on a beach, but it does fine over vollyball courts, and it has a sand/alkalie setting for ground ? i think if it can handle about anything as long as the box doesnt get wet HH jack

The Mxt Pro on the beach is not a problem most of the time. I live close to the Oregon coast and have used mine about a dozen times. Just remember to make sure you toggle to salt in wet sand! It is a pleasant surprise to see what it can do. If you can get to the beach, you will not be disappointed by this detector.

I used my MXT-300 all last summer and found a nice diamond ring right at the shoreline. I use the 12" coil to search and the detector is just fine here in Jacksonville Florida. Even in the wet sand I have no problem, but I prefer a PI machine for wet sand use. I have heard a loft of people say it is not good at the beach; I beg to differ. Go out and have fun... Easy

I used my MXT Pro last summer at the Florida beaches for over a week and found lots of clad coins and a ring and other items to include an i-pod. I really didnt even know what I was doing at the time. I had the 12" coincentric coil and easily found quarters at 12" down in the sand. Near the wet sand/beach head, it got pretty "chattery" where I was so I just turned the gain down a bit and it did just fine. Overall, It did GREAT at the beach, I would just use a different coil next time. JMHO. Hope this helps. CCH

It will depend on WHERE the beach is. Florida's white sugar ultra-low mineralization sand is quite different from say the highly-mineralized sand beaches of Northern Ca. From all the input I would think you should be able to hunt most ocean beaches effectively using the right coil, gain, tracking and search/sweep technique but the machines capabilities will vary with the conditions. Have fun and good luck . .

Looks like Larry sold you on the MXT pro .
