MXT Pro Acting Strange

I have been using my MXT Pro for 10 weeks now without any problems . Today I was out hunting and did the ground balance and confirmed as always. Ground was around 65, set MD at C&J, ground mode, preset disc, using a 5.3 coil and running at +3 gain as I do most of the time without problems, but noisy as expected.

After hunting for about an hour without any problems, I noticed the machine wasn't ground tracking, I mean it went silent as I covered the ground. It did this for a couple minutes so I shut it off, turned it back on and did the ground balance again but it was still silent. I continued a short time and hit a target and it started working again but only for a short time.I changed out battery packs and went through the balanceing again but still had the problem, however, when I hit a target it would start working again but only for a short time.

I hope someone isn't going to tell me that's the way it is supposed to work because I know better. The MXT Pro is a noisy machine and when set at +3 gain it is really noisy and never goes silent. I have had great results running this way and have never had a problem until today, so , anyone have any suggestions as to what may be the problem ? By the way, it also acted the same in the relic mode and it was not in the lock mode.

[size=large]my first and only guess is to check your frigger. i found when in relic alternate mode all inaccepted targets are silent. it won't beep til it finds an acceptable target.

[size=large]noticed my spelling was a little off on the other post. should have been trigger and then unaccepted targets.
they were messing with my head cause my aluminum hat wasn't on all the way.
anyway when you're in alt mode that sucker is quiet til you hit something. that takes some getting used to.all part of learning the machine, for me anyway.

Nope, trigger isn't the problem. I run in the C&J mode with the settings I metioned and have NEVER had a problem until today.

[size=large]what i was thinking was whether or not you may have hit the trigger by accident. i'm doing that with the mode switch. i'll be in cj mode then find myself in relic. it was just a thought to cover all the bases.

Well, don't know what happened, but I haven't had the problem at all any more. Thanks for all the input....it really helped.
