MXT or DFX looking for advice which one to buy! Pro&Cons.

Frank,
What kind of hunting are you planning?
Do you like to adjust and fiddle with your equipment, or would you prefer to set it and forget it?
Both are very capable instruments. Personally, I prefer the MXT. The DFX offers more in the way of adjustability. From what I've read, it also does better on a salt water beach. The key is getting it setup properly.
You might want to go to the Whites site and read the engineering reports and field reports that are available for each unit. I've provided a link for your convenience. You might also want to read their respective operating manuals. You'll get an idea of the complexities of each unit.
Hope this helps.
Good Hunting,

Frank,
I don't know your background on how experienced or how long you have been detecting but here's some advice.
For simplicity and ease of operation, get the MXT. Very down to earth and easy to understand. Set the controls and your off and hunting. I might add, the depth on the MXT is very very impressive! You won't be dissappointed. Now, as far as the DFX, well, that's my specialty! I've been using it for about a year and a half. Got a ton of neat coins and cw relics to prove it's ability. Yes, the DFX is more complicated than the MXT but each has it's place to excel. I hunt mostly open fields where old farmhouses used to be that are no longer there. Also hunt cw campsites. To me, the DFX excels in this category. In summary, for simplicity, get the MXT. For more advanced and personal programming under different circumstances, get the DFX. Or just get both like I did and you've got the best of both worlds, LOL!!! Hope this helps.
Steve
