MXT on the beach

Considering buying an MXT and just wonder how it functions in the dry/wet sand? Can anybody provide feedback of their experiences?

For starters you could go to page 2 and read a post by Shooter65 titiled Pacific Beach San Diego.

Have been using the MXT on Oregon beaches for a few months now.Works good in the dry sand(950 Eclipse)but does not like the wet sand.Just purchased a 6x10 DD Eclipse.Have yet to try it on the beach,am going to try it this weekend, weather permitting. Will update.

I have used it on beaches in and around the San Diego and it worked real well...... just use the salt mode in the wet sand and the trac mode in the dry areas. The 6 X 10 DD coil is what I found worked the best in the minerals like black sand and salt found on the beaches. There is better detectors for beaches and water but they are made just for that like the Whites Beach-Hunter and the Surf PI Pro but you don't want one of these unless beach hunting is all your going to do............:whites:....:detecting:
