MXT on my hardwood floor full of nails

I traded a gold detector for the MXT. The gold detector with the new 5x10dd coil could not get a good hit on a penny all the way around on the hardwood floor in a particular spot. The MXT with the 6x10dd hits great all the way around. So for me the MXT is better in iron trashy sites than the gold detector was. If the 6x10dd works that great in iron I can imagine what the 5.3 will be able to do.

I noticed the MXT doesn't work as good without the arm strap on. Does anybody go without the arm strap?

The MXT is an awesome machine. It doesn't surprise me about the penny on the hard wood flooring. As for the arm strap, I wouldn't be without it. It does balance it out and makes it feel much lighter and easier to swing. HH, Nancy

I don't use the arm strap. I find it a nuisance every time I set the detector down to retrieve a target. I've no doubt that it helps balance the detector a bit, but it's in the way for me.

You're right,. It is a nuisance when you put the detector down. Would be better if you could hipmount the box. I wonder why White's didn't work that into it.
