MXT & MXT Pro

D&P-OR

Well-known member
With the advent of the MXT Pro--what's that going to do to sales & prices on the (Standard) MXT?----What with them haveing the same price tag but the Pro haveing the (3) added features.----Been wondering about that.---Isn't there still a lot of new (Standard) MXT's on dealers shelves?--Are dealers going to have to discount prices (on existing inventory) to move them---or what?? ------Del

We will have to wait and see what White's will do. It doesn't make sense to me to keep the MXT and the Pro...........

From what I see the mxt pro is the price of the mxt300 not the standard mxt which is $100 cheaper I would think they'd do away with mxt300 seems that would make more sense with them being the same price but that's just my thoughts.

Yes, I'm sure the MXT 300 is history and the MXT should be as well. Many dealers will replace the 300 coil with a 950 and other extras at your request. In liew of the 300 mm coils, I'm giving my customers a 950 and White's pinpointer with the Pro for the same price. Work with your local dealers, they aim to please......:)

Larry, do you think White's will offer an upgrade or trade-in for existing MXT owners? Technically, an upgrade would seem to be straight forward.

No............all new machine, it is not just a software change.

Why doesn't Whites offer the MXT Pro to prospective customers with their choice of either the 300 (or the) 10D2 coil? (for the same purchase price on the detector)---Those two coils list for the same price.---Seems like by not offering that choice (for the same price), sales could be hurt somewhat.---------Del

I think White's is leaving that decision up to the dealers and distributors who work directly with the customers Del. It would cost too much to stock and distribute so many varieties of the same machine. MXT 5.3, MXT 4X6, MXT 6X10, MXT 950.....you get the idea. Take that times all of the detectors made?? Much easier to swap coils at the consumer end. That is why the DFX 300 will likely leave the line-up too.

I just thought of another idea I will present to White's and that is distributing a coilless detector and the distributor/dealer adds whatever coil the customer/dealer wants...............

I like the way you think Larry. Good idea.

That makes too much common sense!
A coil less detector and letting the customer choose the coil they want would be the way to go!

But you know the game! It's all about sales!

I see that the MXT-300 has already been taken off White's site. Reduntant now. I'd think the classic MXT will soon disappear as well.

I think that is a really good idea Larry. I for one have never put my 12" coil back on since I got my 10" D2 and 4x6.

Except for the price point difference of 200.00, they almost don't need the M6 either, as the Pro in C&J mode is pretty much the same now.

With a coiless machine, will the dealer be able to adjust the machine to any selected coil? Depth reading seems the most obvious issue.

There is no need for coil "tuning" for the different coils. Also the MXT is going to remain in the line up as well as the DFX 300.

Remember the law of supply and demand!

If people don't buy the MXT and they go for the new model it
would help force a price reduction.

It would be nice to see them drop the price on the old model.

I passed the idea on to Carl, Mgr. of Engineering. He said that the idea has been discussed before but it will likely be brought up again at the next Distributors meeting. ............ I think a solution is necessary because many customers want the new Pro, but have no use for the 300mm coil. For now I guess we have to go to "Plan B or C" Work out a deal with your dealer or buy the Pro and sell the 300.

Plan C ..... would also be great!

Sell all detectors at a price without a coil and let each customer
choose the coil they want.

Pass the word!
