MXT, MXT 300, MXT E ??????????

Hi Danny, the only difference in them is that the MXT300 has been powder coated somewhat. The MXT,MXT-E are as far as I know are the same. The E is just the series model, other than that, supposed to be the same. Anyway they are all the best (IMHO). I've had and been using mine since the fall of '07
and still learning more all the time. If possible get Jeff Fishers book "The MXT Edge". It explains a lot, and was a definite help to me. Good luck and HH:happy: . KC

KC, hey thanks so much. Yea I'll check out that book. It's amazing how fast I can get an answer, Maui to Florida 7 minutes. Treasure forums ROCKS, Thanks again KC Alooooooooooha from Maui.

You forgot to mention the 300 comes with the 300 mm, (12") coil while the standard MXT comes with the 950 coil. The 300 is $100 more.

Hi Larry THANKS, yes I did forget. Also I might mention, the DX-1 pinpointer might be something else anyone might want to get. I use mine all the time now. KC

The MXT is one great, versatile detector regardless of which label you go by. Especially if you add several of the different sized coils to the arsenal.

Hi Danny. Do you really want the large coil that comes with the 300?
It seems that a lot of folk regret ordering the 300 as they have to turn around and get a smaller coil.
I think the ideal is if you can order the MXT with the 6x10 Eclipse DD and also the D2 coil. The 6x10 is better in the junky areas and D2 in mineralised areas or beach work.

in the last couple of years and the 300's seem to run smoother when you put the DD coils on them when comparing them to the standard MXT? sounds weird I know but I believe the all metal side on the 300 is smoother almost like the transmit power was backed off a little to accept the big 12 coil? maybe not but thats what I see.

I might be crazy but the 300 with the DD's get deep and pick's in iron like no-body's business.

Just my take

I wouldn't run a regular mxt after running the 300.(thats Me)

Good luck in whichever you choose

My regular (non-300 MXT) runs a bit smoother with the DD coils. Supposedly there is no difference in the circuitry on the different designations, plus the MXT is a somewhat chattery machine which can vary quite a bit by small adjustments in the threshold and sensitivity.

was tuned just a tab more precise when built. No two metal detectors are exactly alike, but most folks can not tell the difference. Kelley (Texas) :)

I have access to lots of detectors through a friend of mine and you are correct machines are different from one to another in the same model. The 300 seems to be a little smoother ? not a whole lot but it seems to be.Actually I have one of the hottest 300 right now I have ever come across you can run it wide open while not falsing at all and the depth is phenomenal hottest I have seen. so theres lots of variables..

you never know till you try!!
