MXT / M6

CladDog

New member
Is there any depth difference between the two, assuming the same coils on the same dirt covering the same target, say, a dime?

Does one have the edge over the other, or are they pretty equal?

M6 is a coin magnet but they should be the same. The M6 is just a MXT without prospecting. I had an M6 but didn't care for the rod. Just me. If I had to choose one or the other I would do the MXT just because. Never really tried them side by side though.

Hi CladDog,i have owned and compared both and the depth is the same for both machines. The M6 is a simplified version of the Mxt with less features but the same performance in real world terms. If I had to choose one over the other I would probably go with the M6 for no other reason than that it is more stable if used on wet salt sand.

In relation to what RedRockNv stated - I have worked with them side, but not for depth comparison, just showing a friend how to get started on his. The reason I mention this is we quickly discovered EXTREME cross talk between the two. We had to hunt 50 or more feet apart in order to use our detectors.
