MXT in salt water & Freshwater

Excellent on dry sand, good on wet sand, good in salt water as long as the waves don't break on the coil makes it chatter and false like crazy. In salt conditions you need to adjust the sensitivety to the enviornment. Fresh water excellent all around, great on small gold.

Whoops, sorry, poptab. I was asking Pirate John what coil(s) he uses to hunt for small gold.

I've heard a lot of people say they use that Eclipse DD 6x10 as there main coil.

How's it work for shooing coins?

For salt water beach hunting I use the 1400 Deep Scan and the Eclipse DD 6x10. Both are very sensitive to gold and I have found small gold earings with the 1400 Deep Scan. I would have to say the Deep Scan gets about 3 inches deeper on a coin size object compared to the Eclipse. Although the Eclipse will pick up a smaller object closer to the surface. For fresh water I absolutely love the 12" super coil if it's not too trashy, if trash is an issue I use the Eclipse 6x10 DD. Definely experiment with all the coils you can and find the one you like best.

Kellyco told me that 12`` super is not water proof enough for water. That I need 6x10.

I've had excellent results with the 6X10 for shooting coins.
