MXT,How well does it perform on Civil War Relic Hunting any opinions

Rick, here is why I like using the MXT in relic mode.

The dime is there for size comparison. The object at the bottom right is a small iron ring with a very thin piece of brass connected to it. The object on the bottom left is a very tiny brass leather decoration that is attached with four little points. You can see two of the points in the picture. The other two are bent and can't really be made out. Found at a very hard hunted site, in the relic mode; disc at 2, relic mode, trigger switch in the center position and gain at +1. Both items gave a high-pitch non-ferrous signal.

Hope this helps,

I use the MXT for relics all the time. It does very well IMO. In the short 4 months I have owned mine I have found 10 buttons colonial flats and eagles), 4 Harmonica reeds, A borman fuse, tent rope tightner, friction primer, 10 percussion caps. not to mention the bullets. and I dont get out but once or twice a month. Most of the items come out of very hunted sites so most targets found are 10-12 inches or are in very bad ground. I love mine for relic hunting and several well resoected hunters use it as their primary.

Some sites that I hunt here in Kentucky that the ground is highly minerilized,Ihave to hunt it mostly in all metal and you know thats alot of digging you have to do,the disc will not go that deep in it,
Thanks Rick
