mxt headphones

I have a used MXT coming tomorrow and have been pondering what headphones to get for it? Any suggestions? I already ordered (at a great price) a Whites Bullseye II pinpointer and may pick up a Lesche digging tool and now just need to get a rechargeable battery (or two), charger and the headphones. Thanks, Brian

Hi Brian, Welcome to the forum and you're going to love your MXT. As for headphones, I wouldn't have any other than the SunRay Pro Gold phones. They're a bit pricey, but these have all the bells and whistles that are needed and are VERY comfortable even in hot weather. They're like a fine glove and very well made. There's a lot of different headphones out there and lots of different opinions. I do know that Larry sells a LOT of the SunRay Pro Gold and that speaks for itself. HH, Nancy

Both Sun Ray Pro Gold for this summers detecting never looked back:thumbup:

At least that's the way I have always considered it and there are only two that I enjoy the best. My Killer B 'Wasp' and SunRay Pro Gold. They are essentially the same in performance (same build) but the SunRay Pro Golds are a bit softer after time due to the material used. Cheap? Nope. Can they be beat for quality and performance? Nope!

Also, you didn't mention if you were getting an accessory coil or just standard and, if only the stock 950, I'll suggest you consider adding the 6

The Mxt has the stock 950 coil for now but I will soon get another to have. Looks like I better get to saving all my pennies for the headphones and coil, I'm not too worried about the rechargeable battery set up yet but I did miss a good deal for new charger and battery and a used battery for only$65. The UPS man should be here any minute with the MXT, Thanks, Brian

The rechargables are nice, but you'll be surprised how well the AA batteries will last. Congrats on the detector and I am sure you'll give it a test run tonight. Good luck

Just used my Sunray Pro Golds for the first time today. They have to be the most comfortable headphones I have ever used. Super sound quality and all the features needed for the MXT.

I'll second or third? the battery statement. I thought about getting the rechargeable pak for my MXT, but I get such long life out of good quality alkalines that I haven't bothered. Monte's dead on about the smaller coil also. I have both the 5.3 and the 4X6 shooter and they both do a good job in trashy areas and give good performance for their size.

I use Grey Ghost Ultimates and really like them. In the summer heat I have found that a small pair of Koss headphones with the volume control is much cooler. I agree with Monte on the 5.3 Eclipse coil. I use it 90% of the time. John
