MXT hard case

Nasty-G

New member
Just got a new MXT. Looking for suggestions for a hard case. Kinda hate to pay around $100 for the Whites. Thanks for any help.

Get an old hard suitcase from salvation army or another thrift store and modify it to hold your machine.

I have an MXT as well and was looking for an affordable case. I went by GI Joes sporting goods and was asking what they might have in a had case , the clerk sent me off to have a look at some cheaper gun cases. While walking to the gun case isle I passed by the isle that had Bows and Arrows along with the hard carrying cases for the bows. I looked at the cases, they were bigger half circle type cases but had the right length and were quite deep, make a long story short, I bought one and it works absolutely great. I dismantle the shaft but do not take the cable off just the shaft and carry the MXT in the case along with my head set, pouch, probe, hat, digging tools. When I want to go detecting I litterally pick up the bow case place it in the back of my vehicle and off I go with the complete detecting package.
The case was $35 and had foam already cut to the shape of the case, I got smaller pieces of foam and use them to slip under the MXT and coil shaft so they the two don't rub each other in transport. I M/D with a guy who has been for years and he figured that my case was the best he had seen because of the depth and you can fit everything into the case with room left over.:detecting:

Goodwill has very nice hard suitcases and cheep also $3 or so. Go to any dollar type store and purchase a bed foam cushion for $10, cut it to fit, etc. and wella' you've got a hard case for it. HH, Nancy
