MXT & ExplorerII

I'm thinking of maybe adding another detector and looking at getting a M/L Explorer II. I have the Explorer owners manual that I've browsed through a few times. It seems to be quite a bit more 'complex', so to speak than the simple MXT is. Does anyone on the forum have experience with an Explorer than can give any thoughts good bad and in between? Are they as easy to use as the MXT is --once figured out--? And then, in 'overall' detecting with similar coils, ground etc., how do they compare (-aside- from nugget hunting).
I'd think that actual use of one isn't really as complex as the manual appears, if I actually had the detector to work with while going through the manual?
Just ANY general thoughts between the two is all that I'm hoping to get here...
Thanks much... DW

I should probably add that I currently own the MXT so I'm only looking for any pros and cons of it in comparison to the the Exp.II...

I'm strongly considering the new Minelab Quattro. It has been billed as a "user friendly" version of the Explorer (not quite as adjustable). Great depth, but you don't need an engineering degree to learn it.

This is the best site to ask about the Explorer11

I use the Explorer XS II,plus the Sovereign Elite and the MXT when the wife isnt using it too. The MXT is easier to use, the MXT you can go faster with your sweeps, the MXT I feel will do better for gold hunting. Now the Explorer XS II has a lot more controls to adjust for the area you detect, the Explorer will get more depth as we have proven many times over, the Explorer can see a coin next to a nail better than the MXT, but the sweep speed is much slower as it does see more and has to seperate the tones of the targets. The Explorer has tone ID so you can tell between the tones and the meter reading what the target is in most cases.
Bottom line is the MXT is a easier detector to use and the learning curve is very small compared to the Explorer, but the Explorer once learned will get more and deeper coins in some of the older areas. The Explorer XS II is also a more expensive detector than the MXT and one that may be better and easier to use is the new Minelab Quattro as there has been some great reports on them. I was using one before frezze up and it was very impressive and easier to use then the Explorer is,plus sells for around $400 less too.
