Was wandering which coil would be better. The White's 12 inch coil or the 12.5 Excellerator Coil? Any help would be appreciated.

One is a conical and the other is a DD. What kind of hunting are you wanting to do and what are your ground conditions? (mineralization) I know a couple of people who did not like the 12.5 for general hunting. I use the Excelerator 10" and love it and the two who tried the 12.5 went to the 10" and they say it is a much better coil. The DD coils are best known for getting better results in mineralization ground.

I coin and relic hunt. Ground conditions are mild. I use the 6x10 DD right now but was looking for a coil that might go deeper.

For medium to light mineralization, conical coils usually go deeper.............take your pick. The White's Super 12" is a real good one.

Are you using 10 inch round ex coil? This is the one they dint show at kellco j.w. said it was left out by mistake. If this is the one how is it compared to stock mxt coil? Also is it better than whites 6x9 for high mineralization or would the ex 8 inch be better choice i read some complaints about 8 inch but have seen nothing about the 10 inch.Mxt gnd here is between 60s to 80s.

Yes, that is the one I use. That coil is very popular with the DFX users and I suspect it would do just as good on the MXT. It is hard to get Nancy away from her stock coil that she knows so well. AND, there is nothing wrong with that. What works best for someone is what they should use. I get an extra inch or so in depth with the 10" DD EXcelerator and better separation too. I would consider it better that the White's 6X10 for depth. I used the 6X10 for many years as my general hunting coil and was very happy with it. The 10" DD just works better for me. The 8" would be a good coil too at a small loss of depth, but better separation if you hunt in trashy areas.

Hey Sniper,

I don't know if you have made your decision on which coil to go with yet but I would recommend the 10x12 SEF Coil. As good or better target separation than your 6x10 coil plus a lot of added depth. It's like combining two coils to make one that equal Depth and Separation.

This coil works great on places that have been previously 'hunted out'. You'd be surprised at what is still left in the ground after you've been over it with a stock coil and a 6x10 coil.

Send JW @ Kellyco a message or give him a call. He'll be able to get you set up and diggin' deep in no time!

MXT + SEF Coil = Success!
