MXT and Meteorites

What is the best settings for the MXT to hunt for meteorites.
I was hunting in Gold Basin AZ and did not find any but the guy I was hunting with found one and it would not sound off on my MXT.
What do I need to set this thing up right.
Thanks

I would think just running with no discrimination would do it. That's just a guess because I have never found one. See if your buddy that found one will let you do so testing with it.

[size=large]hard to say with-out knowing what you've already tried. from watching the show you might try prospect mode and be sure your dicrimination knob is all the way down. those things are suppose to be iron.like johninNC, i've never hunted for one. just watched the guys on t.v. they hunt with F-75's. they also hunt in areas with no iron expected and most of their finds are surface. the F-75 isn't a gold hunting machine. it's 13KhZ. the MXT should do just as well as the Fisher.
Darn good question for a Guru to jump in on.

I can't borrow the meteorite from my friend as he has gone back to Michigan.
I tried several settings but I need to try some more as soon as I get a "throw down" to test with.
That is OK, I do plan on hunting some of the local parks and schools plus some other places I know.

While on one of my trips to my claims in alaska, I stayed at a friends house in alberta canada for a rest and he had a meteorite that weighed about 2 oz's, I checked it with my MXT in my normal nugget mode of Relic, trig. forward, disc on 2, sens. +3 and it read -77 vdi a 5gram gold nugget read +36

Just an idea...there are meteorites f/s on fleBay, case solved...hopefully not too expensive. Also you might want to check out videos/web site of mr meteorite
