MXT and Gold

Hello all,
Im going to purchase an MXT mainly for gold detection, but also for coins and such.
I have a minelab explorer XS also, and have done some detection with a gp3000.
Anyway, my question is, what coils should i purchase for gold detecting in eastern oregon, southern idaho?
And where can one find info on setup and operation
thanks,
Dan

One more question,
are the 2 yr old MXT's any different than a brand new one? (have they been updated)

The Whites 6x10 DD is the standard (and for really tight areas- the 4x6 and get the tape with it if possible (or from Whites)- has a basic rundown on prospecting set-up. The owner's manual is avail at the White's site for free if you don't have one with a used model. 2 yr old ones should be the same.

the bigger White's Eclipse DD coil for general nugget hunting, but a smaller DD coil for tight spots. Also, once you come across a potential "nugget patch" I would suggest a smaller coil and a lot of patience to cover the area well. For this I would suggest the White's Mini Double-D or the 5" Excelerator Double-D. Both can be very good, but I prefer the round shape and light color of the 5" Excelerator to a black coil. Personal preference.
Since you're also going to use it for coin hunting, any of these coils will do 'OK', too, but I had excellent success with the 5.3 Eclipse as a "general application" coil. Too bad White's sisn't make a thin-profile 8" for the MXT/DFX models! That would be my preferred size if performance was anything close to the excellent results I get with a ProScan 800 coil on an XLT, XL Pro or Classic mode.
You might just have to decide what uses you will have for the MXT the most and go from there on coil selection.

thanks Monte, those will be what i get then
Jim Mc Culloch also advise me to get the 10x6 for nugget hunting
