MXT and 5.3 coil question,

What kind of depth are you people getting with the MXT and 5.3 coil in mild ground, on say a copper Penny ???
What is the deepest that you have dug ?
Thanks...HH..
BJ

Naturally not an abundance of deeper coins as they just aren't there, but plenty over 4" and no problem nabbing the ones at 5", 6" and a bit more. I use it with a slow-sweep and these are depths I get some coins out of rather littered parking strips and yards. The MXT handles multiple targets quite well with a proper sweep speed, and the 5.3 Eclipse is tops in my book.

PS: Where I hunt the ground isn't what you'd call "kind" or "nice-and-proper" or "neutral." It's mostly rather "ugly" or "nasty" or just plain-old "bad ground" meaning rather mineralized. :(

I'm with Monte's comments. I've dug coins around 6" or so with the 5.3 coil. This coil is one that I have used frequently and love it. HH, Nancy

Monty, I thank i seen where you use the 5.3 for gold hunting also, dose it do as good as the 6x10? Dose it go as deep on small gold? Do you think the D2 would be better? Thanks Dean

The 5.3 is an excellent additional coil in your arsenal IMHO.

my #1 pick for full-time use on an MXT or M6 or even a V3 for that matter. The 950 Eclipse is my #2 favorite White's coil. That's for city parks and schools, yards, homesteads, ghost towns, old recreation sites, and for gold nugget hunting as well as coin and relic hunting.

I've gone a bit deeper on gold nuggets and small targets with the 5.3 Eclipse than I have with a 6X10.
