MXT and 4x6 Shooter Questions

I just purchased a 4x6 shooter and have some questions. First, can anyone give me an idea of what type of depth I can expect with it? Secondly, any suggestions on how fast or slow the coil should be swept? Lastly, has anyone used it on the beach with any success? I thank everyone in advance for their input. Best regards.

Depending on conditions, the 4X6 on my MXT gets from 5 to maybe 7". I usually use a medium to slower sweep speed with a fair bit of over lap in order to pull the goodies from the trash. Haven't been to a beach to give it a try.

I have dug a dime the full length of a Lesche blade deep, 7", although that is rare, for me anyway. I do regularly pull coins at 5" with it. I would not use it at the beach as you need to cover ground and it's just to small for the beach. I am usually swinging it slow to get between the trash. If the area opens up, I will speed up a little. Thats one nice thing about the MXT, you can speed up or slow down and still get good performance. The stock coil does great at the beach, goes very deep. Do not get it in the salt water though because it turns to garbage.

I think the 4x6 is great, but what do I know im still a litttle green (MXT OWNER 11/2 years) I beleive the 4x6 helped me learn to operate my detector with more confidence. On the depth I agree with BB 5 to 7 inches I don't know what my deepest has been, but its great in trashy areas. you'll be find though great coil
