Mxt all pro

New member
About to pull trigger on a whites Mxt all pro. I am brand new to this hobby. I read where some get the 6x10 DD coil instead of what ships with MXT.

WOULD that be better than the stock coil.

The All Pro comes with a 10" D2 dd coil that actually works pretty well.I picked up a 9" spider coil which weighs around 8 ozs or half as much as the stock D2.I mostly relic hunt and the concentric coil doesn't seem to false as much on iron targets.I believe this will be my "go to" coil.David.

Hi Aceman, Welcome to the forum. I think you'll be quite happy with the MXT Pro. I would stick with the stock coil for now and possibly pick up a used coil down the road. JMHO.

Nancy

You won't be sorry. Can't wait to hear about your treasure hunting. :)

I have one. Also own the original mxt and the m6. The all pro is a deep seeking unit! The mx sport is also a good unit. You cant go wrong with the all pro.

Thanks. All the post have been positive. Glad I ordered the all pro. It will be here Monday, might get some time during the week to try her out. My yard needs little aerated anyway.
Excited is me.

I hope you do also! Good luck and enjoy!

you choice with MXT pro. I have been swinging one for about 2 years. I have found good targets! Its very simple to learn and I have found some deep targets. I hunt 95% of the time old farms and such and 5% of the time on beach in salt sand.

I only wish it was lighter in weight. I read an article that the lead engineer at Whites designed the MXT with the 10x6 DD coil. Good luck and have fun!

Im impressed with the stock coil, looks like the one that comes with the v3i. I have the 4x6 also.

What kind of detecting are you going to do with it, coins, relics, or prospecting? I have heard that some have had good luck with it for prospecting.

Who says that the MXT is going to be phased out ? That is not what I was told a short while ago, I know the MX-5 is going to be gone by the end of the year, But nothing has been said about the MXT.
