MXT 300

Paint job and the 12" coil is designed a little different, the Super 12 coil cover is too small for it for some reason. It has the same electronics as the current production MXT.

Morlic55 is right but neglected to say the MXT300 is more expensive than the stardard MXT. The 12 inch coil is a coil that will get very little use in parks, playgrounds etc. JMHO Dennis in Idaho

I don't know yet!! So far my wife has been using the 950 on her MXT 300.. The only reason we got the MXT 300 over the reg. MXT was because of the deal with the soft case, pin pointer and head set that was free with it.. No such offer could i drum up for the reg. MXT.. Were going to the beach for a few days and if the weather holds I'll try out the super 12" that came with the MXT 300 on both the DFX and MXT if my wife will give up her MXT 300 for a few hours.. But other then the paint job and larger stock coil there is no difference at all.. It's my guess that the super 12" coil will get another 1" or two in depth.. We'll see.. George

Sorry! I never got the chance to try out the 12" super coil on the MXT or DFX.. Just no time and no luck in the 3 day's we had at the beach.. George

Maybe 1" or so inches in depth also the1400 is a DD and will see a bigger slice of the ground works much better in mineralized soil and I find it works well even in somewhat trashy areas.. I use it as my everyday standard coil.. Best coil I ever picked up.. I like all the DD and will be trying to find a cheap used 4x6 shooter to add to our collection.. The 6x10 DD is a killer coil too with a depth amost equal to the stock 950. The super 12" is a concentric coil covers much less ground the deeper it's setup to go.. Think of the 1400 DD as a windshield wiper and the super 12" as a coffee cup and it's deepest or even a bit smaller.. You really have to overlap a lot to cover your ground good with a round coil.. George

NO difference. Its the same machine just comes with a bigger coil.
Personally I consider it deceptive advertiseing but it could be argued otherwise.
It just depends on how one looks at it.

Then you got a good deal, assuming the goodies you got with it are good quality. The pinpointer
is a real plus.

Happy hunting.
