MXT 300 in Maui

WWII DR

New member
I keep reading where the MXT 300 does not like salt water. Has anyone used this machine on Maui (West Coast). If so how did it handle the salt water and sand conditions. I am thinking about purchasing a 6x10 DD coil thinking that this may help if i have a problem. Any input would be appreciated.

WWII DR, Spent 2 wks last Aug. in Maui, MXT worked great on wet or dry sand, used 6X10. Found a lot of clad coin, the Rangers keys, no gold. I hit the beach early AM, more dogs then people. Good Luck !

Thanks for input. I am trying to decide on getting the 6x10 as the 12 '' coil gets heavy after a while. Your input will help me decide.

WWII DR, I use the 6X10 95% of the time, Big Foots great in parks and beach, ($250.00)

Having used the 12'' coil that came stock with the MXT 300 i am trying to decide between the 6x10 DD and the 10'' DD.I get tired of swinging the 12'' coil all day so want some relief!! Have read forums on the 2 coils and both seem to have advantages of there own. I guess i am just going to haft make up my mind. The local dealer has offered to let me try out a 10'' DD. So i am going to take him up on that offer. Trouble is i still wont have taken a 6x10 for a Test run.
