MX7 vs MXT All Pro

JaWi.

I have a MXT All Pro with several coils. I like the look of the new MX7. What might I gain or lose by buying the MX7? Not planning on parting with the MXT even if I got the 7. I mostly coin and jewelry hunt in average soil. Thanks looking forward to your thoughts on these two. Joe

Here's a couple thoughts to start.

If you sell the MXT and buy the MX7;

I think you will lose some weight with the MX7, it is lighter.
You will also lose the use of all those MXT coils you have. There are not interchangeable.

If you keep the MXT and add the MX7, you add the abilities of the MX7 to the skills and familiarity you already have with the MXT.

For many years I primarily hunted the yards of old homes and an occasional old park and had only the 1 detector that I thought did that job the best. In the last few years, I've found interest in a larger variety of places to hunt and I've come to see the huge benefit of having complimentary detectors.

Also, I think that many detectorists have been too quick to cast aside their old detector for something new only to later realize that they wish they had kept the old one while they were working with the new one.

Just a thought,
