MX5

So far my experience has been better with dd coils in wet beach sand. I have a SEF WSS 10x5 that runs smother, less falsing, and I can run the sensitivity up a little higher in wet sand. So I would think any of the Whites or SEF dd coils should work and give you good coverage. Dry sand the stock coil does great. Some of the other users may be able to give you some imput. I think if you stick with a dd coil in the wet sand you will find it works better for you.

Thanks, MBS.

I have the Eclipse 6 x 4 DD, Eclipse 6 x 10 DD & a 10 x 12 SEF DD, that I've run on my DFX.

I'll give the 6 x 10 a run on the MX5 & see how it performs. It will probably be the best all-round coil, for coins & relics, too.

The 6x10 and for a little more ground coverage the 10x12. I almost went with the 13 inch Ultimate for the beach but I don't hunt just the beach so decided of the SEF WSS 10x5. I think you will find either of the dd coils a little smoother running in the wet sand than the stock coil.

How do you like the 4x6" coil. It's on my must have list. Thanks.

Sorry for the delayed reply, MBS. New internet setup.

So far, I have only used the 4x6" coil on the DFX & have yet to try it on the MX5.

Great little coil, especially in trashy ground. Seems to separate crap better than a lot of other coils I have tried. Gets into tight spots with ease.

Definitely recommend it.
