Any tips on how to settle down the threshold, or should I run it silent. I enjoy the detector, it has good depth, good separation and a fast response time. It just seems the longer I run it the louder the threshold gets and I keep turning it down . Any ideas ? Thanks

I don't own an MX5 but I've seen this question asked a few times.
Hope this helps.

Good link TnShooter. I have not had the trouble mentioned here, but the set up in the link makes perfect sense. Going to give it a try. Only issue I have had was eradic tones and numbers jumpiing all over the place. Sent the MX5 in, come to find out loose battery contact. I may have even caused that not paying close attention to installing batteries while out at a site. White's took care of it, no charge. Love the MX5. Like having a turn on and go MXT All Pro without having prospecting mode or ground grab. I've even triied searching in pin point at some sites just to see what happens then switch over to coin mode.
Thanks for adding the input TnShooter

Happy to help. I've not been in to detecting for the past few years.
But I'm looking forward to getting back out there. Summer is not good time for me.
I very little free time in the daylight. So I read and try to help if I can...
Good luck.

Great tip on calming the threshold. I will try that as well.

I run mine at full sensitivity ,disc to 0 with threshold on zero, runs quiet and is very deep!!
