Mx5 discrimination

Awesome... I watched a video of the 705 and he only kept a few select numbers,where small woman's rings came in.And he had a ton of them he found with just those few numbers.
I wanted a faster machine with a small coil that I could do that with,I had a mx5 a few years ago but couldn't remember if it did that or not.
I do remember why I got rid of it though all the negative stuff I read that people wrote about the mx5.I personally didn't experience anything but good with that machine, but those negative posts just bugged me soo much I sold it.
I don't read that trash anymore, one man's junk is another man's treasure. But when I first got back into the hobby I'd get something, like it,read people's posts about negativity, and find another machine.those days are gone,my opinion of my machine is all that matters,...Happy New Years !

The negative posts must have been when they first came out. It did have a hiccup in the first units but has been dealt with since then. All you read now is positive. My wife has one and she absolutely loves it. I love it too but she wont let me use it but thats ok I love my M6. Happy hunting!!

If you are trying to find gold only by notching out a lot of the vdi numbers, you may be loosing a lot of good targets. I have found small gold in the 6-10 range, and rings on up 20s-40s. I personally like all metal mode to locate , then check with discriminate mode, but to each his own. Just hope with junk masking out good targets trying to cheery pick may leave some good targets behind. Either way, I suggest you try a small coil, like the 5.3 ("61/2") or the 4x6 Shooter coil. Both are hot on small gold, even in trash.
