MX5 Coil question

I know the coil that comes with the MX5 is waterproof.
Are there any other coils that can be put in the MX5 that are
waterproof?

It be nice if the water proof coil was available in yellow
like some of the other waterproof coils?

I also wonder if the stock water-proof coil has a
tendency to want to float upwards.

Can anyone chime in on this?

The stock coil is buoyant so it wont float. Most coils are waterproof and most spider coils or buoyant. The 950 or 6x10 may float also 5.3.

Buoyant means an item has a tendency to float. The 950 and Eclipse 5.3 are buoyant, meaning they have a tendency to float. The Spider coils not so much. All of the Coils made by White's that will work on the MX5 are waterproof. They are all buoyant to an extent, some more than others. White's does not have an accessory coil for the MX5 that is yellow. You would have to get a 12" coil from the BHID and wire a connector on it to fit the MX5 or maybe an old coil off the original Surfmaster VLF detector. May be something you could have the factory do for you.

Yep i meant that ive used the spider coils in the water and they dont seem to sink or float. But the 5.3 and 6x10 float. I knew what i meant just not scientific is all lol
