MX SPORT DISC QUESTION

When in all metal or prospecting mode should I be able to disc out certain #'s? When I notch out a # I can still audio. Only the VDI gets cancelled out....Is this normal? Should the tones also be cancelled?

Had an answer using Reject Volume, but just realized you were asking about All Metal and Prospecting mode. According to the manual, Reject Volume will not work in those 2 modes. Page 21. I use Relic mode and use REJ VOL @ 40 to hear a muted response to my DISC'd targets.

All metal is just that "all metal" and prospecting do not descriminate. See page 11 of the Users Guide. All of the other programs run notch descrimination. Relic is great because it is a mixed mode program, running all metal and descriminate at the same time. Kind of confusing but like the MXT Relic mode, once you try it and get some experience with Relic you will find it very useful. Gpsnoopy has the right idea with rejected volume in Relic program.

pretty sure the omega 8000 has tones in AM, I know that doesn't help you though, so the answer is no tones in AM??

Thanks everyone... I figured it wouldn't effect tones but it does cancel out the display of a target that has been disc'd out. That's what confused me...
