MX Sport detector stand

Old California

New member
Was going through a box of detector parts, came across a detector stand.

Pretty neat too, helps keep the detector upright

Paul

Thanks Jason and Trashfinder, it sure helps keep the detector upright.

Thanks again,
Paul

Here's the simple kick stand Shawn,

Using a Sovereign v-clip, two cut portions off a spray can top, expoxy and double side tape.

Took it apart to show you the simple kick stand setup, doesn't void warranty since nothing is glued.

Because a good portion of curved plastic rest on the lower curved battery housing, has enough area for double side tape to grip onto the lower battery pod. The only parts with expoxy are the parts to construct the kickstand.

Any traces of exposed white tape on the edges, use a black sharpie to color it in.

I like it, very useful keeping the unit upright especially out in rough terrain.

Hi Paul,

Thats a very resourceful way of doing it. Thanks, for going thru all that to show us how you did it. I have to admit I did wonder how you attached it with out voiding the warranty. My first thoughts were that you found a way to maybe use the line of weep holes on either side of the bottom of the battey compartment to somehow attach it or lock it in place.

Also, kudos on how you ran the headphone adapter cord thru the arm strap as well. I just sold my V3i, to pick up the Mx Sport and I'm going to try my setup like that.

I couldn't afford both machines, as least that is what the wife said anyway.

Later On,

Shawn(TX)

Thanks Shawn,

The arm cup has a slot for the arm strap, two zip ties through the slot on both ends of headphone plug fastens the plug. Then, use one of the enclosed cable clips to fasten cord below handgrip.

Neat and simple!

Thanks again,
Paul

Nice one Paul. How about making me a stand that can keep me upright after a few shots of Bookers . :drinking:
