Mx Sport coil question

I just picked up the 950 coil and haven't used it yet. Has anyone who has used both the stock and 950 found any discernable differences between the two? Thanks.
 
I have the 6x10 and the original. I need a 7". I've located an area that has so many coins I can't GB my unit. Once I make my first dig I just shorten the shaft and stay on my knees
