I started beach hunting about 3 years ago with a Whites MXT...I did OK. Finding a few rings, lots of coins, toy cars ect...I then got a Garrett Sea Hunter II. Well I love the Sea Hunter, very lite with the unit on the wast belt, but the only things I have found are fish hooks bobby pins and a very few coins. Now I've tried just about every way to adjust,,, in the water, on the sand, wet sand, dry sand, black sand, and bobby pins....Some over a foot deep....This machine sounds off on my wedding ring a good 20 inches away, but all I dig in bobby pins..I just knew I would find a China Man a few times, but fish hooks..If this thing can locate a rusty old bobby pin a foot deep in wet beach sand, a ring or coins seems like easy pickens......So my beach hunting friends, Is it the Sea Hunter or do I need a good luck charm...........thanks Jim in SC

just not the right ones. To find a gold ring your coil has to be above it and not a fish hook, in case you didn't know!! Also sounds like you have a deep machine. Try another beach, is all I can say.

Tie a string on your gold ring and bury it just to see if you can get gold that deep also. Try it in the wet, black and dry sand.

Yep keep swinging the sand will move then the fun begins! Read the Charles Garrett "how to search sand and surf"it may have come with your unit,i know it came with mine.I am in a area with ALOTof hunters so pickins are slim.Reasearch a lost spot like scuba might help.good luck ,Wayne
