musketeer xs coil question

Eric

New member
I have the older musketeer xs pro. I bought a slimline 8'' coil for it and love this combination. I will get me a straight shaft to mount the older 10'' coil on.
Since I have the like new 10'' DD coil [older version] I wonder if the slimline 10'' would be much better performancewise? Is it just the weight?

Thanks, Eric

I have the 8" and 10" slimline coils for the Musketeer Advantage I now have and the 10" doesn't get much better depth than the 8", so my guess would be no on the performance question, but if you're working on getting the weight down, like I am, you might consider it. However, if I was using an older Musketeer you would be wise to consider a new 8" slimline first. That coil was the chief reason I bought a used Musketeer as it is the perfect coil to hunt in an iron-laden site like a picket post, get the necessary separation and depth to help root out some goodies. You still gotta dig some iron, but it should be less with this coil.

Thanks Canewrap,

i like the 8'' a lot and find it superb on Roman and medieval fields. I love the recoveryspeed. I will just use the 10'' for beaches or wide open fields.
