musketeer on 4 buried dimes- Impressiv

New member
say i just took the musketeer over the 4 dimes buried at 6,7,8,9" inches and i am using the 15" WOT coil in all metal it hit on all with good strong signals easy to pinpoint then i switched into disq and it hit all of them just fine the 9" dime i had to swing a bit faster but it came thru very well I was thinking of selling it but this test made me relize this is a good detector it even gave a good signal on my 10" buroed dime i just cant let this thing go the coverage on the WOT coil is awsome and its pinponting ability spot on + they dont make them anymore , dont get me wrong i like the GT and the GT only has the 10" coil and it hits the 8" dime good and the 9" intermitantly but thats just because of the smaller coil

In actual hunting condition you will see the GT will go deeper once you know it, but air test the Musketeer will do better.
The Musketeer does go deep on air test and very sensitivie, but in actual coin hunting all mine would do is get the rusty bottle caps in the same area I was with the Sovereign were getting coin after coin without rusty bottle caps with some deeper than the Musketeer would get rusty bottle caps in the same area. I only had about 25 hours on the Musketeer so I my not have known it well enough, but the Sovereign run circles around it for coin hunting for me.

It would have been great if minelab had made a meter for the Advantage, similiar to the Sovs meter, where you could take it off if you didnt want to use it. Or give it tones for different target ranges.

Gunnar,I've used both,in the field where it counts and the Sovereign works better.Too many people waste their time driving themselves nuts doing meaningless test.Go out and work areas you have covered in the past and once you have experience you won't need a test for a confidence builder. With silver prices up go mine some silver with the Sovereign.Later Ron
