Musketeer hits a dime buried at a full 10"

I put my TS800 coil on the musky and tested it 1st in disq and it did fine on the 6" dime and a good wisper on the 7" but was silent on the 8' so i put it in all metal and groundbalanced just a bit positive and set the treshold just to whear it will start to click and i got good signals on all even a ten inch buried dime that my soverign cant hit in all metal amazing Sov is so soft i dont know if i would dig the 10" signal but the musky is very clear i have never tried the 800 on the SOV

I'm surprised you got more depth with the Musketeer in all metal mode.
I have always read that the Musketeer is much deeper in Discriminate mode and the manual also states this as best as I can remember as this is the preferred mode.
Not disputing your test, but I also have one and mine is much deeper in Discriminate mode.
One thing for sure is that this detector is very capable of detecting deep targets.
When you stated that " I set the threshold just until it just started clicking".. did you mean the Sensitivity?

ya the sens , and you know mabe its the soil hear any detector in discriminate does not du well maybe thats why but the musky,s all metal cut right thru the minerals

Did you set the Sov ground balance to slightly positive and then throw it to fixed too? You can do that by pumping the coil in all metal traack and then going to fixed.

No I have not tried that , but I will now thanks man
