Musket nose cap???

Wondering if anyone can ID the brass piece in the picture. It is nearly identical to musket nose cap, specifically the Enfield musket. Any help would be great....HH
 
It has to brass studs or rivets? That's the only thing that has me stumped. I think most we're attached with a screw. A buddy of mine has the exact same thing. Both were recovered from civil war sites. Thanks for commenting!
